The choice of ceramic bonsai bowl should respect the character of the tree. For conifers, we recommend choosing unglazed bowls in earthy tones (brown, grey, ochre) to enhance their rugged beauty. Deciduous and flowering trees, on the other hand, stand out in coloured glazes as blue, green or cream can brighten the colour of the leaves and flowers.
When repotting into new pottery, always remember to fix the tree with wire and use fresh potting medium. A properly chosen bonsai pot should be visually stable and not overpower the plant itself.
