The bonsai bowl is not just a container for the substrate, but forms an integral artistic whole with the tree. In our centre in Libčany we place great emphasis on the selection of containers. We have the largest stock in the country, which includes everything from practical training containers to luxury collector's pieces. We are also one of the few in Europe to run our own ceramic workshops, where we create original Czech ceramic bonsai bowls, tailored to our climatic conditions.
We have thousands of containers of different shapes, colours and sizes in stock, so we have something for the beginner and the discerning collector.
Our custom ceramic bonsai bowls are fired to high temperatures, ensuring their complete hardiness and longevity outdoors.
In addition to ceramics, we also carry lightweight and durable plastic bowls that are ideal for the first stages of growing and shaping.
For each bowl, we recommend you also choose a matching tray to protect your furniture from moisture in indoor species.
We follow tried and tested aesthetic and practical rules when choosing a bonsai pot. In general, the length of the pot should be about 2/3 of the height of the tree and the depth of the pot should be about the same as the diameter of the trunk at the base of the tree. For conifers , we recommend rather unglazed, earthy bonsai pots, while flowering and deciduous trees are very well suited to coloured glazes.
If you are unsure of the size, remember that each bonsai pot must have enough space for the root system, but at the same time the pot must not be too large so that the tree does not 'float' in the substrate. Be sure to purchase a strong bonsai wire to secure the tree in the new pot and a good quality substrate for proper drainage.
