Calistemon

Calistemon (also known under the name štětkovec) attract particularly strong filiform inflorescence - the most frequently cultivated species are reddish, but may be white to cream or greenish. They are mostly Australian endemics - from known about 35 species of them has 30 homeland only in Australia.

With us is most commonly cultivated species Callistemon citrinus. It is durable, easily producible kind. It grows best in a sunny habitat.
It flourishes in permeable, still slightly moist soils.

Calistemon winter light place at temperatures of 5-15 ° C, temporarily tolerate even a slight frost (up to about -3 ° C). When hibernating keep the soil only slightly moist.
